We have a few opportunities for therapists to work on a healing or detox retreat, joining as a member of the staff team in exchange for a discount place or free place.

The therapies we have regular need for are : Massage, EFT , EmoTrance, Yoga and Meditation plus Self Help Workshop facilitation. Therapists joining our retreats who have other therapy skills may offer these as optional extras to guests.

Therapists working on our healing retreats still participate in the rest of the programme as much as they are able or desire to, given the working hours they have agreed to offer.

EmoTrance is a simple natural process of transforming our emotional state. It works by paying attention to the physical sensations in the body that accompany our emotions and using our intention to soften and flow, releasing the internal pressure of our negative emotion and restoring the flow of our new positive emotion. It all boils down to the fact that 'it's all energy' and simply a question of 'is it flowing?' or 'is it blocked?' Simple? Yes, but the implications of this discovery are far reaching and profound.

EFT Emotional Freedom Technique was developed by Gary Craig. EFT is based on the discovery that our negative emotions arise from a disturbance in the body’s subtle energy system, associated with a thought or memory.

EFT is a simple way of releasing this energy disturbance associated with a distressing thought by tapping or holding specific energy release points on the body so we use and teach EFT on our healing retreats. These special points are acupressure points, corresponding to end points of the major meridians or energy pathways in the energy body.

Often referred to as the ‘tapping technique’ or ‘acupuncture without the needles’, EFT is simple and easy to use, and is extremely powerful and effective for releasing stress, creating emotional freedom and real changes in our lives whether we use it for self help or with the help of a practitioner.

Traditional Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient healing art, which has been handed down from teacher to pupil since the third century BC. Thai Massage works on an energy line system (the Ten Sen) through which the body's natural life force flows.

Blockages in this life force cause aches, pains and disease.

The yoga teacher on our healing and detox retreats is Jyoti Jo (Jo Hogarty) who teaches Ashtanga yoga and a range of Meditation techniques. All levels beginner to advanced are catered for in her classes on our yoga holidays in Sinai Egypt and the UK.
